Part 6: The Heart Medicine — My Journey With San Pedro (Wachuma)
Peru Initiations: A Journey of Remembering & Becoming
Intermixed with the weeks of walking the sacred lands of Peru, connecting with ancient mountains, and experiencing profound moments of remembrance, my journey took another turn.
I also spent time with a different kind of teacher, A plant teacher.
During my time in Cusco, I spent time at the San Pedro Retreat Mountain House, where I worked with San Pedro, also known as Wachuma twice.
This traditional Andean plant medicine (derived from the Wachuma cactus) has been used for generations in ceremonial settings and is often described as a heart-opening medicine through naturally occurring mescaline within the cactus, Wachuma offers a unique doorway into expanded awareness, emotional healing, and deeper connection.

But as I quickly remembered…every medicine has its own personality. Every teacher has its own way of guiding.
The First Ceremony: An Unexpected Lesson
My first experience with Wachuma was not what I expected. Instead of the heart-opening, conscious experience I imagined, I found myself moving through a much deeper physical process. The medicine took me inward.
Deeply inward.
For nearly 15 hours, I was in a profoundly altered state, unable to fully engage with the experience in the way I had hoped. By the time the medicine finally began to wear off around 1 a.m., I was left wondering:
Was I meant to work with this medicine again?
Had I received what I needed?
Or was this simply not the plant teacher for me?
I didn’t know. So I listened.
When the Medicine Came Before the Ceremony
Over the next several days, I sat with the experience. I reflected, questioned, and allowed myself time to understand what I was meant to.
Then, the night before my second scheduled ceremony, something unexpected happened.
Wachuma came to me in dream state, without taking any medicine, without entering a formal ceremony.
And yet, the experience felt unmistakably like one. The medicine spoke. It guided me. It opened my heart and mind. It showed me what I needed to understand before I returned to ceremony the next day. I even experienced sensations commonly associated with drinking the medicine, the physical discomfort, the dizziness, the need to hydrate. Throughout the night, I was repeatedly reminded to wake up and drink water, just as I would during a daytime ceremony.
It was as if the medicine was preparing me, teaching me, helping me understand how to work with it.
And then I understood something important:
Perhaps the first ceremony had been unsuccessful. Perhaps I had received exactly what I needed. I simply had not been able to access it yet.
The Second Ceremony: Learning the Language of the Medicine
The next day, I approached Wachuma differently. I now knew how to listen, to honor my body, and how to work with the medicine instead of simply surrendering to the intensity of the experience.
And the difference was profound. This time, I received so much.
The medicine guided me through a powerful unveiling process that would ultimately influence the rest of my journey through Peru.
I was shown the deepest, oldest parts of my soul's history that I had been searching for: my soul origins. Aspects of myself I had deeply fragmented from long, long ago would finally have a landing for reintegration.
I was also shown that physical challenges were ahead. That these were part of a recalibration process. Initiations that needed to be completed and linked together as if pieces of an ancient puzzle. Like I was weaving all my pieces back into the divine version of me.
I wept deeply as the remembering settled into my tissues. And I leaned heavily into the strength, trust, and connection I was being shown was an integral part of me.
But I was also shown something equally important:
I would not be completing these upcoming challenges alone. I had the support of the ancient wisdom keeper mountains and my soul brothers and sisters I was currently with in Peru. Between the 5 mountains I would visit, all my purest essence would be restored, recalibrated, and fully activated. I could see it clearly. I could feel it in my cells. And I could remember how this felt so long ago before I even lost connection.
It was exhilarating!

The Wisdom of Plant Teachers
One of the greatest lessons this experience gave me was about relationship.
Plant medicine is not simply something we consume. It is something we enter into relationship with. The plants have their own wisdom, their own timing, and their own way of communicating.
And sometimes the lesson is not about having the perfect experience, but about learning how to listen more deeply.
Wachuma was correct in all that he shared with me. By the end of my trip, all my orthopedic struggles were gone. Even the ones I arrived with and the new ones that joined along the journey. As I released my grip on what I thought I knew and leaned into the void of trust, energetic wounds were released from my physical body, and I returned to a younger, more carefree state. I was also gifted the information he promised just days after I returned home. Everything had come full circle. A circle of completion.
Just as plant medicine reveals what we are ready to see, our own soul carries layers of wisdom waiting to be remembered. This is the foundation of my private quantum healing sessions and Akashic Record work—creating space for deeper awareness, healing, and alignment.
A Gentle Medicine With a Powerful Message
For those who feel called to explore plant medicine but feel hesitant about surrendering into a more intense experience, Wachuma can be a beautiful teacher. Its energy felt gentle, loving, and heart-centered.
That said, every person’s relationship with medicine is unique. And while I deeply honor Wachuma and the wisdom it shared with me, I will admit…my own personal relationship with plant medicine still resonates most strongly with Ayahuasca and Rapey.
There is something about the depth, intensity, and transformative nature of these medicines that continues to call me. But I am grateful for every teacher that arrives. Because each one brings a different lesson.

The Beginning of the Next Initiation
Looking back, I can now see that my experience with Wachuma was not separate from the rest of my journey. In the days that followed, the physical challenges, the moments of initiation, the deep connection with the mountains—I began to recognize something familiar.
I had already been there.
I had already been shown.
The medicine had prepared me… I just didn’t realize it yet.
And maybe that is one of the most important lessons of all:
We don’t always understand our experiences in the moment.
We don’t always recognize the guidance when it first arrives.
Sometimes, clarity only comes in hindsight.
Sometimes, the integration happens after we’ve already walked through the fire.
And when we finally look back, we see that nothing was random.
Every step…
Every challenge…
Every moment of connection…
Was part of something much greater unfolding.
The journey was never separate pieces. It was always one continuous path guiding me exactly where I needed to go. And now I have simply stepped into a higher timeline, a grander version of my experience than I had planned on. I am deepening my awareness and my connection even more as I continue on my path!
Transformation does not happen in the moment of awakening alone. The true magic comes in integration—bringing the insight, healing, and remembrance into everyday life. This integration is the heart of my IMME Journey, a transformational container for those ready to embody their next level of self.
