Part 5: The Rainbow Revealed — When the Earth Shows Us What Was Hidden

Peru Initiations: A Journey of Remembering & Becoming

Tucked away high in the Peruvian Andes, just beyond the towering sacred presence of Ausangate, lies one of Peru’s most recognizable landscapes:

Vinicunca.

The Rainbow Mountain.

Rainbow Mountain standing at over 16,000 feet of elevation.
Rainbow Mountain standing at over 16,000 feet of elevation.

After spending the previous week traveling through the raw, untouched wilderness surrounding Ausangate, arriving at Vinicunca felt like stepping into another world entirely.

The contrast was immediate.

The quiet solitude of ancient trails was replaced with tour vans, bustling crowds, and the energy of a place that had become a global destination.

And yet…

As I began the trek with my private guide, I realized something important:

No amount of human activity could diminish the power of this land.

The Earth does not lose its magic simply because more people discover it.

The Mountain Demands Humility

The hike itself was deceiving.

Compared to the challenging ascents of Huayna Picchu, Ausangate, and Waqrapukara, the trail appeared relatively simple—a gradual path that took less than an hour to climb.

But mountains have a way of reminding us that appearances can be misleading.

As we crossed that invisible threshold above 16,000 feet, everything changed.

The air became thinner.

The body became more aware.

And my nervous system immediately responded.

A heavy headache settled behind my eyes.

Nausea arrived in waves.

My mind became foggy and disoriented.

I had camped at 15,000 feet elevation, but I had never crossed over the threshold of 16,000 feet before.

It was a powerful reminder that the human body is constantly communicating with us—and that the higher we climb, the more we must listen.

At this altitude, where the oxygen pressure is significantly reduced compared to sea level, the mountain asks for humility.

It asks us to slow down.

To breathe.

To be present.

I was not accustomed to practicing my presence among so many people. It was hard to hear the mountain at first. I felt my nervous system balk at so many people in the space between me and nature. Spikes of frustration and a sense of separation threatened to derail my valuable asset - my nervous system.

This experience reminded me how intelligent our bodies truly are. Our nervous systems are constantly adapting, communicating, and guiding us through change. Learning to listen to those signals and expand capacity and connection is a powerful part of the work I share through my Embodied Nervous System Primer Package.

The Moment the Rainbow Appeared

When we finally reached the summit pass, something shifted.

The fog in my mind cleared just enough for me to fully witness what was before me.

The Earth itself appeared to be painted.

Layers of brilliant color flowed across the landscape, stretching toward the sky.

A rainbow carved into the mountain.

A masterpiece millions of years in the making.

And what fascinated me most was realizing that this extraordinary landscape had not always been visible.

For thousands of years, these vibrant colors remained hidden beneath layers of snow and glacial ice.

Only in recent decades, as the ice retreated, did the mountain reveal this hidden artwork to the world.

A secret held by the Earth.

Revealed only when the time was right.

So my nervous system had to learn to trust that timing and feel into the precision of it.

The Ancient Chemistry of the Earth

Standing there, I was reminded that nature is both artist and scientist.

The colors of Vinicunca are not random.

They are the result of millions of years of geological transformation, ancient sediments, minerals, volcanic materials, and tectonic forces coming together to create something extraordinary.

The reds and pinks reflect iron-rich minerals oxidizing over time.

The greens come from mineral deposits connected to ancient volcanic materials.

The yellows, purples, and other tones emerge from layers of Earth history written directly into the mountain.

The Rainbow Mountain is not simply beautiful.

It is a story.

A record.

A living expression of the Earth’s evolution.

Hidden Until It Was Time

Perhaps what moved me most about Vinicunca was the timing.

This incredible landscape existed long before humanity knew it was there.

It was always magnificent.

Always powerful.

Always complete.

But it remained hidden until the conditions allowed it to be revealed.

And isn’t that true for us as well?

There are parts of ourselves that remain beneath the surface.

Gifts.

Wisdom.

Memories.

Truth.

Not because they are absent…

But because they are waiting for the right moment to emerge.

The mountain reminded me that revelation does not need to be forced.

Everything unfolds when the time is right.

Just as Vinicunca revealed its hidden layers when the conditions were right, we each carry layers of wisdom waiting to emerge. This is the same principle I witness in my private Akashic Record Readings and Quantum Healing Sessions —the soul reveals what we are ready to remember.

Carrying the Lesson Home

Standing there between the commercial energy behind me and the ancient power of the Andes surrounding me, I felt deep reverence.

Vinicunca reminded me that sacredness exists everywhere.

Even in places that have changed.

Even in places touched by humanity.

Even in places that look different from what they once were.

The Earth continues to speak.

We simply have to remember how to listen.

And perhaps that is one of our greatest invitations right now:

To reconnect with the intelligence of the natural world.

To honor the body that carries us.

To recognize that transformation is not about becoming something new.

It is about allowing what has always been there to finally be revealed.

If you feel a connection to the wisdom of the Earth, the intelligence of your body, or the deeper story your soul is ready to reveal, I invite you to explore the different pathways I offer for remembering, healing, and embodying your own unique journey.
